2025 EIASM AC meeting: Fragmented World & AI Era: what do we want as Advanced studies and Research in Management?
The EIASM 2025 Academic Council will be held in Brussels on Monday, May 5 (afternoon) and Tuesday, May 6 (morning). The theme of the 2025 edition will examine our current challenging and complex context, with technological and geopolitical perspectives.
The first panel discussion will focus on AI for Good - management research and advanced studies perspectives
- the first panel discussion theme: AI for Good! As Management societies, communities and researchers, what do we want from AI and how we want it?
- the first panel discussion objective: to Define what we want as positive side from AI? And how? Ex: how can it help the next generation of researchers, creating opportunities in conducting research and having purpose in society? To establish a comprehensive normative framework regarding the positive affordances of artificial intelligence within management research ecosystems and scholarly communities. This inquiry seeks to articulate collective desiderata for AI integration and implementation methodologies that align with disciplinary values. Specifically, how might these technologies enhance capabilities for emerging scholars, create novel research modalities, and strengthen the societal impact and relevance of management scholarship? How artificial intelligence can catalyze methodological innovation, facilitate knowledge creation processes, and ultimately advance the public good through management research that addresses consequential societal challenges.
The second panel discussion will focus on 21st century as a fragmented world for management research and advanced studies perspectives
- the second panel discussion Theme: What should be the Advanced Studies in Management in the 21st century fragmented world and post-stability era
- the second panel Discussion Objective: To conceptualize the nature and parameters of advanced management studies within the contemporary context of global fragmentation (post-stability era), particularly as academic intellectual autonomy faces increasing scrutiny. This examination will align with EIASM's core mission, addressing scholarly publishing dynamics, doctoral education frameworks, support mechanisms for doctoral candidates and their supervisors, and evolving career trajectories in academia. The foundational theories of management emerged during periods of relative socioeconomic stability. This panel seeks to interrogate what constitutes advanced management studies in the 21st century's discontinuous landscape. Critical questions include: How should management scholarship respond to increasing geopolitical complexity? What role should research and doctoral education play in addressing sustainability challenges and value creation paradigms? What strategic opportunities exist for EIASM to advance its institutional mission within this transformed research ecosystem
