EIASM Celebrates 20th Edition of Interdisciplinary Conference on Intangibles, Sustainability and Value Creation
Modena, September 2025 - The European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM) proudly marked a significant milestone with the opening of the 20th edition of its Interdisciplinary Conference on Intangibles, Sustainability and Value Creation in Modena, Italy.
Two Decades of Innovation
What began 20 years ago as an innovative thematic, launched with the visionary support of Gerry van Dyck and Prof. Philip Vergauwen, has evolved into a cornerstone event in management research. The conference, affectionately known as "the Intangibles conference" or "the Prof Zabon conference," has grown from a pioneering initiative to a central forum for interdisciplinary research that now attracts global participation.
A Living Embodiment of EIASM's Mission
This year's edition perfectly exemplifies EIASM's core values with over 120 participants from 20 countries gathering to present and discuss 80 papers. The conference demonstrates the Institute's four fundamental pillars:
- Community Building: Creating a genuine community of practice where researchers engage in constructive debate within a warm, collaborative atmosphere
- Internationalization: Fostering global research connections across continents - particularly vital in today's interconnected yet turbulent world
- Interdisciplinary Excellence: Breaking down silos between management, accounting, and sustainability research
- Support for Emerging Scholars: Nurturing the next generation of researchers in this dynamic field
Acknowledging Excellence
EIASM extends its heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Stefano Zambon for his extraordinary leadership and unwavering commitment to this research community. Special recognition goes to the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia team, led by Laura Girella, for their outstanding local organization.
The Institute also acknowledges Graziella Michelante, EIASM's dedicated Intangibles conference manager, along with Cristina Setyar and Pavlov Dimitrakos for their behind-the-scenes excellence in ensuring this event's continued success.
Looking Forward
As EIASM continues its mission of fostering innovative, rigorous, responsible and impactful research in management and related disciplines, the Intangibles conference stands as a testament to the power of sustained academic collaboration and the evolution of critical research themes over two decades.
The conference runs through September 18 & 19 at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, featuring inspiring keynote speeches and extensive networking opportunities for the international research community.
